Hippocratic AI Secures $126M Series C at $3.5B Valuation—Healthcare AI Moves Mainstream

The Company That's Making Healthcare Safer with AI Agents Just Raised Its Biggest Round Yet

Hippocratic AI, the Palo Alto-based startup building safety-first generative AI agents for healthcare, closed a $126 million Series C round at a $3.5 billion valuation.

This brings total funding to $404 million and signals serious confidence in the company's ability to scale patient-facing AI across the healthcare system.

The round was led by Avenir Growth, with participation from heavyweights including Google's CapitalG, General Catalyst, Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, and healthcare systems like Universal Health Services and Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Why This Deal Matters?

Healthcare faces a staffing crisis. Nurses, social workers, and nutritionists are in short supply globally. Hippocratic AI solves this by deploying AI agents that handle non-diagnostic patient tasks—appointment reminders, post-discharge follow-ups, chronic disease management calls.

The numbers tell the story. In just 15 months since going live, Hippocratic AI has:

  • Partnered with 50+ health systems across 6 countries
  • Built 1,000+ clinical use cases with actual healthcare teams
  • Completed 115 million patient interactions with zero safety incidents

That last point is crucial. While other AI healthcare startups rush to market, Hippocratic AI built its entire reputation on the idea that safety comes first—literally founded on the Hippocratic oath.

Where the Money Goes?

  • The capital fuels three priorities: international expansion, M&A and capability acceleration, and product innovation, particularly Hippocratic's “Polaris Safety Constellation.”

Andrew Sugrue, Avenir's co-founder, highlighted this: “After speaking with customers, we believe Hippocratic is leading the agentic healthcare category. Their relentless focus on safety earned them the trust of healthcare organizations worldwide.”

Funding Trajectory

Hippocratic moved at lightning speed from seed to dominance:

  • Seed: Initial round with General Catalyst and Andreessen Horowitz
  • Series A (March 2024): $53M at $500M valuation
  • Series A+ (September 2024): Additional $17M from NVIDIA
  • Series B (January 2025): $141M at $1.64B valuation (9 months later)
  • Series C (November 2025): $126M at $3.5B valuation (10 months later)

What's Next?

CEO Munjal Shah has built three previous companies—including like.com (acquired by Google) and Health IQ. His track record suggests Hippocratic will become the dominant healthcare AI player.

The real opportunity: If Hippocratic captures even 5% of healthcare staffing, the addressable market justifies the $3.5B valuation many times over.
