Axiado Raises $100M for Hardware-Driven AI Security

San Jose chipmaker Axiado just closed a monster $100 million Series C+ round in December 2025, bringing total capital raised to over $213 million since 2017.

Maverick Silicon led the oversubscribed round, with firepower from Prosperity7 Ventures, Orbit Venture Partners, Crosslink Capital, and Nosterra Ventures doubling down on hardware-rooted cybersecurity for AI infrastructure.

Why Data Centers Need Axiado's TCU Chip Right Now?

Founded in 2017 by veteran CEO Gopi Sirineni—a 25-year Silicon Valley exec who led Qualcomm's Wi-Fi business—Axiado builds AI-driven security processors that protect data centers at the silicon level.

Its flagship Trusted Control/Compute Unit (TCU) embeds AI directly into hardware, enabling real-time threat detection, autonomous system management, and power optimization without relying on vulnerable software layers.

The TCU isn't vaporware. It's shipping to major OEMs, ODMs, and cloud service providers partnering with NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, and Arm.

As AI workloads explode and agentic AI systems demand self-managing infrastructure, Axiado's chip architecture solves two critical pain points: stopping ransomware before it spreads and slashing energy waste in hyperscale environments.

Why VCs Are Going All-In on Hardware Security?

This raise came exactly one year after Axiado's $60 million Series C in December 2024, signaling red-hot investor appetite for silicon-level security.

Andrew Homan of Maverick Silicon said hardware-anchored protection is “now a foundational requirement,” while Prosperity7's Abhishek Shukla emphasized Axiado's edge in “blending silicon-level trust with intelligent power optimization“.

The capital will expand sales and engineering teams—Axiado already doubled headcount in Taiwan and India, grew 40% overall, and opened a new India office in 2025. Funds will also accelerate next-gen TCU development and OEM partnerships to embed Axiado chips into global data center infrastructure.
